“Meditation is the only royal road to the attainment of freedom.
It is a mysterious ladder, which reaches from earth to heaven, from error
to truth, from darkness to light, from pain to bliss, from restlessness
to abiding peace, from ignorance to knowledge. From mortality to immortality.”

I completed the Meditation
Immersion Course at the Sivananda Yoga
Farm in Grass Valley in January 2005 With my teacher Swami
Sitaramananda. In now assist Swami Sitaramananda on her Meditation
and Vedanta/Silence Courses.
These are powerful and profound ten-day
residential courses with the aim to help those who meditate to
improve in their
practice and to
identify their personal obstacles to meditation. These courses
help students to reach a deeper understanding of the theory and
practice of meditation.
Topics include positive thinking, control of the mind, control
of the senses, obstacles to meditation, the theory and practice
of mantras,
the four paths of yoga and will include extended periods of
meditation practice as well as asana yoga practice.

Meditation cannot be taught, just as sleep cannot be taught. To still
the mind and enter silence requires daily practice. I teach the steps
that you can take along the way to establish a foundation and thus
ensure success in your meditation practice. These are proper environment
and attitude and how to understand and overcome obstacles, both physical
and mental.
Please contact me if you wish to set up an “Introduction to
Classical Yogic Meditation” for your group, yoga studio or retreat.
